We have some exciting announcements for the month of June:

We welcome our new graduate students, Sayoni Mitra and Anton Lachowicz, and are excited to have them on board!

Prof. Mark Johnson and Dr. Fabian Menges have successfully obtained the NSF MRI grant to expand our Chemical and Biophysical Instrumentation Center (CBIC) to include infrared (IR) spectroscopy characterization of ions as a standard secondary analysis tool.

We have started a productive new collaboration with Dr. Mauricio Cattaneo (Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, Argentina) and Prof. Jim Mayer to look at the molecular level details of multi-step proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET).

Also, our AFOSR grant was renewed in June, allowing us to extend our work on catalytic reaction intermediates to understand the mechanics behind frustrated Lewis Pairs and the role of metal oxidation states in CO2 reduction.
