Group Alum Nan Yang gave an outstanding talk in the Jakunas Award Session at the APS March meeting, celebrating the top three dissertations in the US in Chemical Physics. Well done Nan!

Santino and Sean both presented papers at the APS March meeting as well as at the ACS National meeting in San Diego with titles: Characterizing the bonding motifs in X−(HOCl) complexes (X = Cl, Br, I) in the gas phase with cryogenic ion vibrational spectroscopy: Hydrogen vs. halogen bonding and “Benchmarking vibrational probe molecules: Dissecting the nitrile spectral response in isolated electric field reporters,” respectively.

James (on the right) attended the meeting in-person (!) and enjoyed networking with colleagues in the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE); he is president of the Yale chapter.

Mark gave his talk in the PHYS Awards session for the 2022 E. B. Wilson Award, right after Anne McCoy’s talk as the 2022 recipient of the Francis P. Garvan-John M. Olin Medal. Rounding out the event was our CAICE colleague Heather Allen, who won the Langmuir Award this year.
